    Default Wayne Temple

remember talking with the former principle of Ray Batema's school at Central Baptist of Pomona at my 10 yr. reunion. this gentleman, J. Wayne Temple, a graduate of BJU, had left the "fundamentalist movement" (now) 20 years ago because of the "sexual sin that was all too common".

Hey that is a familiar name. I always thought a lot of Bro. Temple. How is he doing and where is he now?

I went to Central back in the late 60,s early 70's and remember him well.

Temple was a good guy. His wife was my 3rd grade school teacher and he was a good man. I have not seen him in 15 years now but when I talked to him he had moved to the hi-desert area here in SoCal and was a principle. I cannot remember if it was at a Christian school or public school but I knew his kids were attending public school. He told me if he would not put his kids through Christian school because of the legalism and hypocrisy he had seen first-hand.

He had in no way left his faith. I know he had gone to Liberty for some post-grad work in the 80's at some point. He was quite a bit older than
I but had a brother my age that I went to school with at LU.

Which "Central Baptist" did you attend? There were actually two large ones here in that time....one in Anaheim with Bob Wells as pastor and the other in Pomona with Ray Batema as pastor. Temple worked at both. I went to the former for elementary and the latter for high school. The former was much less extreme than the latter. Think BBF and HAC respectively.

I went to Central in Pomona. Later on I pastored in Orange county...not too far from the other Central but thay had changed the name. I remmeber when Bob Wells retired. I pastored in Orange County during the 80's and the early 90's.

    You were mistaken.

Default These names are all coming back to me

I attended Central Baptist Church in Pomona when I was a kid and went to there school. I have been trying to piece together where are they now and what have they been doing? Pastor Ray Batema, Wayne Temple, Maily, and other ones if you can remember and old pictures. I want to kind of fill in gaps in my memory.
