I'm a Harley guy, bone deep, but in recognition of the great tradition of European bikes, I would like to have a Ducati, a BMW, and a Triumph in the garage as well.
Now there's a new British company that combines some old-school bobber, dirt-track, and "naked" bike ideas with a modified Buell Blast engine from right here in the good old USA.
This one is my favorite, I think.
But this one is pretty close
And yes, I know that Buell won't be building the Blast anymore, but H.D. is going to keep it in production under it's own label - not Buell, not H.D., just a "Blast" motorcycle, so hopefully they can still acquire the engines, and not have to go to Japan to get one. A Brit bike with an American thumper engine, and bobber styling with modern naked-bike handling.
Oh yeah. If they keep the Buell engine, I will have one.

That looks nice. My brother had a Buell with the 1200 engine. I enjoyed riding it. Had a comfortable riding position and sounded nice (he modified the exhaust).

Right now I am stuck. I had a friend who left an old Honda CB 750 at my house for storage in 2007. There were about $600 in repairs needed and he did not want to do it. I told him I would take it and fix it. SO 3 weeks ago I took it to a friend and he started working it.
Now I owe him $390 for the carb rebuild but it is in my name. No driving this winter.

Congratulations. Great way to start.

These follow a completely different mc tradition - going back to the old bobbers (the original "choppers") and dirt trackers, and utilizing a large, single-cylinder. That makes it super light weight, with amazing torque. Definitely not a touring machine - but what a cool commuter or day-rider.

I remember a buddy of mine buying a customized Yamaha 600cc "Thumper" that was set up a lot like a "Flat Tracker." It looked really cool like something that could've been featured in a motorcycle magazine (braided lines, custom fork, drilled disks, chrome frame, "Coffin" style tank, Etc.). We went up to Escondido (North San Diego County) to pick the thing up and I rode it home since he was not accustomed to riding. That thing literally beat me to death out there on the freeway and I was more than happy to finally park that thing!
Some motorcycles are meant to be polished up and looked at and little else!

Definitely not made to be ridden on a freeway. More like from light to light, so you can stand up off the seat and escape the vibration every so often - and turn just about every head while doing so.
