My dad, Dr. Frank Garlock (’57 grad, former employee), is in Jacmel, Haiti. He went down to preach for the Missions for Haiti school and church where Tom and Sarah (Bell) Bennett (’67 grad/former student) serve. Tom left Haiti last week, but Sarah and my dad are still there. We have had no communication with Sarah or dad. We understand tha t the epicenter of the earthquake was directly between Port Au Prince and Jacmel and that both cities were devastated. Please pray with us for their safety and that they can be a help and testimony to these people at this time.

Our daughter Jeannie works with an attorney named Becky. Becky is based in the Atlanta office but comes to Greenville every week. Becky went to Haiti on a mission trip with Childspring International. She was in Haiti yesterday morning when she emailed Jeannie. No one has heard from Becky since the earthquake struck Haiti yesterday afternoon. Please pray that someone will hear about Becky & her teammates soon & for their safe return.

I'm praying for these people. How heartrending. My daughter is currently out of the country and if this were happening to her, I would be so distraught!
Praying also for the people of Haiti. So many of the poor there have little to begin with and this will make their life that much harder.
