IFB/IFBX churches directing their youth to christian colleges

Anyone else have the experience I had growing up in an IFBX church years ago and I mean years ago where the church pushed their youth to attend christian colleges instead of state schools. Those youth who did not attend a christian college was looked at and even treated differently then those who attended christian college(s).
Now maybe that practice has changed in the IFB/IFBX world today but had anyone experienced that years ago? And if so has it changed in your churches today?
