    This week is my first week to serve as chaplin for this week at our local hospital.

    I did not know what would happen but I went and walked in the diffrent rooms many of them wanted to pray, and I was able to talk with them and spend some time with them...I prayed, and gave some encoraging words and shared a scripture verse....but the greatest thing that happened

    Was this man who was an alchololic, just came out of a coma, and his doctore had asked his daughter to see if she wanted to pull the plug on him...but she said no and he got better soon there after...He was recuperating from his addiction and having heart problems, and suffering from curosis of the liver...I asked him if he were to die today if he knew where he would go...He said yes I would go to Hell...

    I then sat down with him and went through the Romans Road...He seemed surprised that all that was in there and said "I have been in Christian schools, and at my grandma's penticostal church all my life, but no one had ever explained salvation to him....He asked the lord in his heart and when I left i asked him if you were to die today now were would you go....which he smiled and said "I am going to Heaven"!.....

    Please pray for him and his addiction...He has a long way to go and just pray that he will take this time in the hospital to draw closer to God and farther away from his addiction...

    that being said...I enjoyed my time, and can't wait till tommorrow when I get to do it agian

    Wow! Praise God! That is wonderful news. It is a sad thing when a person goes to church for their whole life and never hears the Gospel. But praise the Lord that you were able to share with him, and that he accepted Christ!

    I will be praying for him, and also that your work as a chaplin will continue to bear fruit.
