I have family members that are, I have serious doubts about any MLM's.
Is this just a nother scam?

Never heard of it, but like you, I am highly suspicious of MLMs in general.
If the MLM does not seem to emphasize recruiting folks to "join the organization" rather than simply becoming end consumers (without formal affiliation), then it may be okay, but even so, please counsel your family members to beware.
If there is a major emphasis to attend rallies and to consume costly motivational resources it is almost certainly a scam.
If given the opportunity, try asking one of your involved family members why this company's products/services are not freely available in traditional retail outlets, or whether they will be granted "protected territory" (to help ward off market saturation). Help them probe exaxtly why they seek to be involved with a company which chooses to distribute its products/services in a manner which (rightly or wrongly) has an increasingly dubious reputation.
Ahhh the never ending pursuit of the magic exotic fruit/substance that nobody has heard of that cures almost everything! Let's see there was/is:

Acai
