WOW what a blessing we just had. The lady who owns the farm where we live stopped in the afternoon excpecting to see if we had had a boy or a girl. She also had prolonged labor so she understood. But then she wanted to know how the children where prepared for the winter. We have coats for all of them, and hats for most. She asked about gloves, and mittens. Well the children just pull on papa's socks and go. I told her we did not have gloves or mittens for them.
A little while later she came back and started to drag in food. MEAT!!!! and FRUIT Then out came the gloves, I was so excited and was crying when our oldest daughter said she would not have to wear socks on her hands anymore. the two littlest girls got hats and mittens, the next girl got two pairs of gloves, all of the boys got two pairs of gloves and she also bought a pair for both mama and papa.
I love our church people so much. They take good care of preacher.
PS and for those of you who would ask, yes I LOVE the ones who can not give us anything.
Glad to hear your good news. God is good, even when we don't deserve it.
There's always a slight ring of... something... I can't find the word for it... when I hear stories like this. On the one hand, people share that they are too poor to afford the basics for their children, or that they can't afford to keep their car in good maintenance, etc., But, meanwhile, they spend so much time on a costly internet connection that, over a period of several years, would provide plenty of money for gloves and hats and car repairs.
Something just doesn't ring true. Especially when it's a full-time christian worker. Just a thought that mildly intrigues me from time to time.

Carry on. <mystery meet backs out slowly...>
Sad but true. There is normally a common thread with those of always making everyone aware of how poor they are. God has provided without us saying a word to anyone here, except when asked. But I do understand your thought.
