I ban users for posting spam, porn, or curse words. I also have banned users who troll; posting comments unrelated to the thread in question just to stir up strife. I do not ban users just becasue they are unpopular or unliked. If that was the case I would need to ban about a quarter of the users here.

This is my semi-official policy on banning. Contrary to popular opinion I spend very little time personally on the forums. This forum is self-policed. If you have a problem with a post please report it! Don't complain about a lack of action if you do not take time to report violations of the rules.
Sometimes as I perused the threads I get the feeling that there ought to be a whole lot more banning going on...
