I think that I may have posted one or two more updates in the fighting forums under Please Pray for Mom, if you haven't read them. This is the last update, just posted this morning.

The funeral went well Tuesday. The pastor did a fine job, and the church provided a great meal afterward at the church fellowship hall.

Before we left Mom's house, one lady asked my family to sing, so my wife, Grace, Joy, and I sang a few hymns a capella. Then I led the whole group of relatives in Amazing Grace and It is Well With my Soul. It was precious.

I don't know if people in heaven can see what is happening on earth. If they can, I believe that Mom surely must have enjoyed watching about 20 of her relatives honor her and her Savior by singing hymns in her living room about salvation by the grace of God.

We drove home that night, arriving about 12:30 AM on Wednesday morning. I did manage to play a little tennis yesterday, knocked on the doors of around 100 homes with our church newspaper, and had an enjoyable service at church last night.

Thank you for praying with us through these days. Your kind support meant a lot to us. You might keep my wife in prayer for a while. She and my youngest daughter really went through a tough time in the last several weeks, as they took turns staying with Mom around the clock before she went to the hospital. They are still trying to recuperate.

The bible does speak of "a great cloud of witnesses", not sure if that is what it means, but nevertheless, you gave honor and glory to the Lord...he deserves all the praise. You may never know how much of an impact you had on those caring for your mother, but God does and he inhabits the praises of men.

    God bless you!
