Default The great flood: Did it really kill the dinosaurs?

A common explanation of why we no longer have dinosaurs is the great flood. Dinosaurs don't get on the ark, they go extinct. http://www.blueletterbible.org/Gen/Gen007.html. This is the KJV genesis 7. Herein lies the problem: If the dinosaurs didn't get on the ark, why didn't God tell Noah to leave them behind? This passage says that pretty much everything got on the ark. But no dinosaurs. The reason for this is: Dinosaurs didn't exist back then. At the time of the flood, Noah didn't know about dinosaurs. He couldn't have if they existed 65000000 years ago. Nowhere in recorded history (6000 years), which creationists say is the age of the earth, have there been any reports of dinosaurs. Maybe mythic dragons, but such predators as dinosaurs in the environment with humans would have so adversely affected history that there would be countless eyewitness accounts. Clear proof that the earth is exponentionally older than humans.

Comments about persons are based on personal knowledge. I merely allege comments based on the word of others. Readers may draw their own conclusions. I opine in good faith as to the state of mind, morality, and character of persons named. Such opinions may be published regarding persons who live public lives legitimized by a presumption of impeccable character.

Where in the Bible does it say they did not get on the ark?

That's the point. It never says they didn't get on the ark. If the great flood killed the dinosaurs, don't you think God would tell Noah why to leave the dinosaurs behind? At that time, they didn't know they existed, therefore the could not be contemporary.

Also, about panspermia. I think it could be a theory to consider, maybe an endosporic kind of thing. Life could only come in the simplest forms without some kind of technology (what's up with the space ark theory, I've heard more believeable things from L. Ron Hubbard).

I think you are looking at this from a standpoint of unbelief. I believe Noah put all of the unclean animals on the ark, including any dinosaurs that were living. The flood happened approx 1700 years after creation. Some potentially could have become extinct in that amount of time. I believe that the flood was world wide and dramatically changed the world both in land masses as well as temperature variations. This probably killed off the dinosaurs that survived the flood by being on the ark.

Well I think you're looking at it from the standpoint of belief. I would have thought you'd know that (this is the "non-believer's forum" after all) P.S. how about my sig? Did that tip you off?
