I have had a few conversations with non-believers on this board who like to say that they consider themselves my friend, or who want to be my friend recently. I think that is a wonderful idea. I have to admit that I have my reservations, however, to this idea, so thought I would test it out. Here we go:
1. I believe Jesus is my Lord and my Savior and I love him with all my heart.
2. I believe that all of his ways are holy, righteous and just.
3. What are your thoughts about God, who is my heavenly Father who will one day take me to himself to live forever with him in Heaven and will conversely, judge those who have rejected him as Lord and Savior and cast them into Hell where they will be eternally tormented?
Thanks, friend?

Learned men ... scorn to submit their reason to divine revelation, to believe any thing is above their comprehension; and so being wise in their own eyes they became fools." -- Jonathan Edwards

Bandguy,
Indeed, recenntly you and I did have several little conversations when you told me that I hated God, that I was spitting at God, etc.
And yes, I did make reference to being your friend.
That is a fault I have.
One time before on here, I made the same reference to another poster and he told me I made him sick.
I apologize for forcing my friendship on you.
While I'm certainly not your enemy, it is unrealistic to consider us friends. Not because of what you believe because I knew that from the get-go, but because of what I perceive your attitude to be towards me.
I do apologize for making the word "friend" to seem so casual. I have done a disservice to my real friends who I have had for many years. Last year, I had a great great tragedy in my life and my real friends - three of them - all of which have been my friends for many years, were at my side before I knew it.
I'm not your enemy in the least, but we won't worry about friendship.
3. What are your thoughts about God, who is my heavenly Father who will one day take me to himself to live forever with him in Heaven and will conversely, judge those who have rejected him as Lord and Savior and cast them into Hell where they will be eternally tormented?

There is nothing more; but I want nothing more.

Duncan - I was in the hospital awhile back - I was alone, on a dark and windy night. A knock came at the door - I asked: "Friend or enema?" - Poor attempt at humor I know but I have been up all night.
I hope today ( or tonight ) is a good one for you and yours.

The one great fallacy of fundamentalism is that we actually believe that while we are confessing the sins of others that the Lord will not look as intently on our own.
As I have gotten older, I have tended to become less dogmatic over certain issues: "(1 Cor 2:2 KJV) For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."
However, just to demonstrate what kind of guy I am, I'll be spending a large part of tomorrow in the convivial company of a Liverpool FC fan!

1. Okay
2. Okay
3. Balderdash.

Haven't watched a game in over 10 years (when I marrried Yvonne) much more interesting to look at.
