One Thing I like About Atheists:

You always know where they stand. If you have one for a friend, I have found them to be faithful and appreciate what you do for them - They put on no airs and are just what they seem to be. I am generally speaking and there are exceptions to this rule.

Until March 14, 1978, I lived with one - He was my dad - I received from someone who claims to be Christian, a very hateful note about him yesterday - I wanted to brush their teeth with a ball bat!

I have received some of the most venomous, hateful, abrasive letters and phone calls from those who call themselves Christians - Not very pleasurable to be around.

No wonder Jesus Christ (when on this earth) was written about:

Luke:15:1 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

I think you haven't known many atheists. Go spend some time in prison and see what you think of the atheists who got caught. They can be just as sneaky and mean as anyone else.

What would we do without a God who loves us?

Naturally, I'd like to agree that we're a much pleasant bunch to be around.
Truth is, we're just some flawed human beings who share a disbelief.

As I don't really know any fundamental Christians, I haven't experienced that kind of vitriol. My closest four friends are all atheists, since I've known them all since I was about 14 , it's something that has become apparent over the years rather than a condition of friendship. The fact is that they're all good guys, I don't know if this has anything to do with their lack of belief.

Ever hear of Holman Prison? - go over there and look in the chapel - I donated thos hymnals - I had to fight the entire state of Alabama to do it -

I always knew where those guys stood - Usually at the urinal.

Rates of belief in God are higher amongst the prison population than the general population.

So you are saying that you always found those guys faithful not to use the wall, but did they sometimes use the floor?

There may be a lot of people who claim to believe in prison, but when the lights go out it is more often the abused who are calling on God. And when God doesn’t answer in the way they want, faith in God is hard to hold on to. That kind of abuse feeds an atheist view. It is so sad that men are molested and the guards can't stop it. Would that make you want to believe in God, or would it confirm your belief that God doesn’t exist?

Words are cheap and yet have great value when you want to convince the right people that you have found religion in prison.

That answer would confirm my belief that some Christians have an obsession with sodomy.

Evidently you've never been to Holman - Use the floor one time, they'd either make them lick it up or castrate them - One thing they were faithful at was proclaiming their innocence - never met a guy there who said he was guilty (even those who said they got saved after they got there - and that was a whole lot of 'em!)

    Humerous annecdote:

One day while driving back to Pensacola from a meeting at Atmore's Holman Prison - I looked up ahead and told the guys in the van, "We'd better slow up - see a radar speed detector on the side of a cop car up ahead!"

As I drove closer, I discovered that it was not a radar unit (they used those big black round ones back then) but a car full of local African Americans - they had a flat tire and was driving really slow on the side of the road while the driver (with an "Afro") had his head stuck out the window to make sure the tire didn't leave the rim!

Why would you say that? Do you think it doesn't happen in the prisons?
I realize people are murdered every day, but I don’t have an obsession with murder. I realize that people are dying every day in our hospitals, but I don’t have an obsession with death.
I realize a lot of bad things happen everyday, but I don’t have an obsession with all the bad things that are going on in this world.

Your statement confirms my belief that you have a prejudice against Christians.
