Since I am on my soapbox, let me add that we are currently in a global warming trend, which is being affected in a negative way my mankind's behavior. Be that as it may, there are no government coverups; Al Gore may or may not be cashing in on the situation; but overall, the earth is cooling down. In another 4 or 5 billion years, the earth's inner molten core will have long since frozen solid, and the earth will be a solid frozen rock -- if it has not by then been consumed by the sun's expansion due to its having become a red giant.

Since the last "ice age," as you call it, ended only 10,000 years ago it should be painfully obvious to you that however it happened, mankind, being around at that time, found a way to survive.
