Just thought I might try to start a thread with ordinary conversation.
Yesterday we had my oldest daughter's wedding reception at my house.
She was actually married in a very small ceremony on New Year's Eve. She and her Hubby wanted to have something larger where a much wider group of friends and relatives could celebrate with them. So we had an informal "open house" style event at my home, with buffet-style food. We ended up with about 70 guests. Everything turned out very nicely.
Whew, am I tired! Maybe I can recuperate this week.
I will try to post some pictures later, when I have more time.
How many posts does one have to have made before they "gotta have it"?
One short of a fence?

The one great fallacy of fundamentalism is that we actually believe that while we are confessing the sins of others that the Lord will not look as intently on our own.
As I have gotten older, I have tended to become less dogmatic over certain issues: "(1 Cor 2:2 KJV) For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."
Actually, it's 5,000. I saw a post on it up in the "Fighting Forum" although sadly, there seems to be more fighting down here than up there.
I have to say, I find it odd that there aren't more people my age on this forum. The late-teen, early-twenties crowd is usually the most spiritually misguided, and I thought this kind of forum would be the kind of place they'd come, hang out, and learn where they stood in regards to spiritual matters. Ah well, I've never been good at judging the actions of the public. (i.e. Sanjaya? Really???)

You must be joking. Places like this are for old farts like me. My kids are that age and all they ever want to talk about is what fools they made of themselves - spiritually indifferent, more like.* Talking of which, right now they are 16,000 kilometres apart from each other, and a long way from here. So I've got plenty to worry about.
*Note: doesn't mean I think there is such a thing as a spiritual realm / dimension / whatever. But that's not for here.

Eliz553,
Here is a wonderful song to start our Sunday out with. And no matter what our theological beliefs, I believe we can all enjoy this song:
