I didn't want to hijack the thread but wanted to reply to you... I do agree with the fundamentals of the faith but that isn't what fundamentalist seems to mean anymore. And IFB doesn't mean what it stands for anymore either. Its a whole sect and those are the people I can't agree with anymore. I would love to visit a Reformed Baptist Church and have a feeling those are who I might agree with the most. There aren't any around here though.

I'm glad you enjoyed the blog. Learning about the Doctrines of Grace has been amazing. I resisted it for so long but once I took the time to learn about it I don't understand why its so feared. To understand God's sovereignty... I want to learn more about it. In the mean time I really need to make another post to that blog.

So what brought you to Methodism form your somewhat Reformed education (at least for some of your education)? Due to your Whitefield comment it seems you still have a Reformed bent??

Dear xtreme devotion 120.....I am a United Methodist pastor from Pennsylvania that loves John Wesley but am more theologically attuned to George Whitefield. Years ago I attended Reformed Presbyterian Seminary in Pittsburgh and also went regularly to the Ligonier Valley Study Center when it was located in Western Pennsylvania. I would hear and talk to R. C. Sproul regularly.

I am probably the only person on the forum that has attended both Jack Hyle's Pastor's School AND the Banner of Truth Ministers Conference. (it's a long story)

I appreciate the well thought out responses, gracious attitude and your use of scripture in your responses.
