I'm already used to being ignored, my friend, but I appreciate your words of encouragement!

All I can do is shake my head and resist the urge to enter the fray. I'm having far more fun dwelling on the human side of the conversion, anyhow. :-)

Nachos, Light bulbs, the deepest vacuum of space... anything that you can give substantial evidence for is substantial (by definition.) Now, as a history of how the Tribes of Israel took over Canaan in the name of their god, as a recollection of the life and times of Jesus of Nazareth, and as a binding agent for a minority of Jews in the earlier annals of history, believing the Bible isn't that bad. It's when you get into the truly fantastic (I almost said "unbelievable," but had to check myself) portions of it, where one has to take a step back, and look at it in terms of either allegory, embellishment, or even outright storytelling. To me, it's sad that people are overlooking the general message of the Bible ("Do good; receive good") to defend its outdated, mythological stories. Memes, like genes, must adapt or die. It's Christianity's failure to adapt to things and still live as a societal meme that astounds me.

Sorry. The blood is important, but only after all of it is spilled. (i.e. he's dead.) I understand that, but you won't find the blood glorified in the Bible like it is in the hymnbook. The shedding of blood always results in death. The Jews were not to kill their animals by strangulation because it was a picture of the death to come, not vice versa. I'll try to be clearer next time.

I'm not trying to do anything to you at all. I think you've mistaken my criticism of Christianity's basic tenets as an attack on you. I have nothing against you or anyone on this forum. I'm just looking for answers to my questions regarding Christianity, as this is part of my attempt to find for myself where I lie in terms of my own spirituality. I've separated myself from all religion so that I might critically observe each and every one with a foreigner's eye. When this is done, Christianity becomes no greater than any other religion. What I find interesting about it though, is that its followers are so fervent to defend it, and so ardent in their belief that everyone else is wrong, I thought that there had to be something to it. After all, most Eastern religions are more than willing to accept those who don't share their beliefs. I was just hoping that there would be something more substantial than Biblical belief to back up the basic stories of Christianity.

It's only because the basics of Christianity (and all other religions) are flawed. I merely point out these flaws and watch as you defend them. You look at everything critically except for your own beliefs, and that's what I'm trying to get you to do.
