Okay, maybe "nipped" is not the best word in a 44-0 walloping by Martin Luther, but hey, there's always next week!

Hate to drive all the way to western Minnesota to be embarrassed so badly.

Freshmen pass coverage needs a lot of work. One senior can't run it by himself.

They stuffed the run pretty well, though. Second half wasn't terrible, even if it was against their subs.

Our running game needs a lot of work. We're struggling with O-line/D-line matchups and aren't really succeeding in opening holes for Crawford and Maize.

Special teams look superb, passing game is decent, pass coverage greatly improved, but our defense against the run was terrible. We need to learn how to wrap a guy up.

They'll get there. Should be a promising year, methinks.

Has MBBC ever had a winning record in football and if so what year(s)?

Also looking at this year's roster I don't see the QB you had last year from Providence Christian school out of Tampa? What happened to him?

Last year's starting QB is from Hinckley, Minnesota. He still lives in Watertown, but he graduated last year. I think you're referring to the starter from 2007, Phil Littrell, who was injured before the season started last year. He transferred out this semester.

The football team used to be pretty dominant until we joined the Northern Athletics Conference, which is a very competitive league. I can't find anything in the MBBC archives, but I'm pretty sure the team enjoyed winning records for a while before this decade.

Thanks, I saw Phil play in HS so I was surprised he transferred out. Do you have any ideal where he went?

Actually, they went to a (*very*) minor bowl game several years ago. Can't remember exactly when, but I believe they got blown out.

You talking about the Victory Bowl in 1998? I don't think the score was that bad and it was close at the half. Some team from PA beat them.

Probably, and you're probably right on the margin. I was bummed about it, and therefore probably exaggerated it in my mind.

I called a guy I know (he was a wrestler for MBBC) who went to the game, he says it was 10-6 at the half. He couldn't remember who the school was, Geneva something out of Pittsburgh. the score ended up 28-6. (his best memory) He said what you probably remember is that they only got 15 yards in the whole second half and had like eight punts. I guess that's a wuppin.
