I had an opportunity to spend a little time with Jonathan in a meeting this week.
He has a tremendous amount of responsibility on his shoulders, and probably feels some measure of pressure at times.
I find him to be humble, thoughtful and courteous...not to mention respectful of the thoughts and concerns of others.
I believe he will, Lord willing, grow into a leader on the same level of his his father.
At least, that is my hope and prayer.

That would be difficult to accomplish, IMHO!
It can be argued that Jerry Falwell had a greater impact on the culture for Christ than any of his contemporaries.

I would agree with that statement.
I would also add that he communicated the Christian Worldview to American culture more than any of his contemporaries; and left an institution to continue that worldview after his departure.

Agree with you. I thought there would be a drop off in the preaching from TRBC after Jerry passed. I have found Jonathan to be a fine preacher of the gospel in his own way.

Although thinking him to be a decent, Christian man, I had wondered how well Jonathan Falwell would do when his time came to become the Pastor of TRBC. I have been very pleased with what I have seen of him on TV, his sermons, etc., and read of him in the media, online, etc. as well as pleased with his brother Jerry, Jr. I would imagine that they must feel like Joshua when he started leading after Moses or Peter when he started leading after the ascension of Jesus. Following an internationally known, very influential, charismatic leader in such large operations can be challenging but I think that Jerry Falwell, Sr. has prepared them for the job and that they are "hitting their stride", so to speak. I think that the Lord will use them mightily in the years to come should the Lord further tarry, as the saying goes.
