And part of the problem is people staying home watching the service instead of coming to Sibley St attending the services.

Oddly, Schaap in another sermon said he welcomed the recession as judgement from God because, as he put it, Americans have become too materialistic.

    SOS...................same old Schaap.

What's the difference, chewing on 'em in the building or chewing on 'em on the internet?

Attending a Sunday night service likened unto Jesus going to the cross.

I thought Al Gore started the internet.

I just had to put that because as I was watching it, (not to honor GG's post, but because I wanted to hear what Dr. Schaap had to say), our 16 year old came through the room. He heard, "That's why we started the internet." The offspring said, "They started the internet?" (I explained, but he understood, just thought it was funny.)

It is said that some things in the ministry are being cut, and some of it is due to lazy Christians, no doubt. I've been in the ministry long enough to realize that.

My dad, as a pastor, if budget cuts had to be made, always started with cutting his salary first. He had a wife and seven young mouths to feed, but he worked 60-70 hours a week to provide for us on top of full-time ministry, if he needed to.

Ps 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Did he refer to empty seats? I thought sure with the growth under his royal leadership that they'd need another new auditorium. After all, Jack Schaap is the Master Church Builder. NOT!!!!!!!

I'd like someone to give this joker a church building in another city, with no people and say have at it. THEN see what he is able to build. He was handed this church and is destroying it single-handedly.

Once again, I reiterate my call for Jack Schapp to do the right thing. RESIGN!!!!!!!

It is a hoot when he paints the picture of a family staying home from the service to watch the stream on the computer.

With rant mode on, he conjures up the scene of [dad] relaxing in the recliner, mom bringing in popcorn....then you'd assume there's a couple of kids sitting on the floor....all eyes focused on the computer monitor.

I wish McSpaddin (sp?) would make us a cartoon of that.

And I'm not making fun of Schaap. I'm saying he has ways of being entertaining when he doesn't mean it that way.

Look...I am the least hacker of anybody who posts here....I have no hard feelings or ill will of my time there...but it certainly wasn't for me....HOWEVER....

Jack Schaap is preaching to a different kind of people than Jack Hyles preached to....

Would I sit under Schaap? no....but as a pastor...I have a lot more confidence in him than Dr Hyles.... Dr Hyles was always calling someone out....Jack Schaap does scream...but not like he used to...he is far more palatable to listen to that Dr Hyles.

In the internet era, everything is different...business, dating, information...and CHURCH.....

What he says makes perfect sense....many of the people who are listening either

    A. aren't able to attend because of health reasons

    B. Don't want the brick and mortar of a "church" building or feel like having a pastor

C.Are like Grid who listen but wouldnt attend or tithe there anyhow

So I think what he says about internet church is absolutely true. And if Dr Hyles had been able to beat Jerry Falwell to the punch on the TV preacher....he would have done it...Falwell built a monster ministry/college/program one brick at a time.

You have to respect the way they went about things...

The Gospel doesn't change...but the delivery is much different than before

Off my soapbox to make some gravy
