One thing that I thought was kind of different at HAC was that if someone was there for 10 years and then went to another ministry, it was like they were raptured away. No one ever spoke about them. The year books in the dating lounge showed their pix and yet is was like they were never there.
I had heard Dr. Hyles speak about Cindy,David and once and awhile he would mention Becky. But in 4 years, I NEVER heard Linda's name mentioned while I was there. I heard her name in sermon tapes from the 70's and 80's but not once while I was there.
Did she go in to sin or think that the place was a cult and just left? In fact, I am sitting here not too sure if her name is spelled with an I or a Y.
Linda, was and is a unique person who has her own story! Lets just leave it at that!![]()
A mentor is someone whose hindsight can become your foresight!!
Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I'm come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
You can be certain that not only has Linda Hyles never caused any church splits, never broke up multiple families through multiple affairs, and never beaten an infant child to death in his crib, but she has never even been suspected or accused of such things.
So there really isn't much reason to worry about where she might be, what she might be doing, or who she might be doing it with.
She presents no danger or concern to anyone I know.
Her brother, on the other hand, presents a danger everywhere he goes.
Big difference.

Ah yes, I agree with some of the above. But if you read any other threads on this college forum but those about Dave, you will note that the gossip flows freely about staff and faculty without regard to whether or not they are a danger to others. I see no reason why someone who has knowledge of her whereabouts and her family life could not share them.

I remember Dr. Hyles' saying in messages that Cindy and Linda always seemed to get along well as they were growing up. I think something like "I have never heard a cross word spoken between them", several times. (I also remember both Linda and Cindy both saying, "Dad wasn't always home.")
I also remember Dr. Hyles' mentioning about Linda and Johnny's baby who was born with a club foot and the surgeries she had to have and the strength they showed through it.
