This is a very telling issue, and the rest of you need to think about it.
Well I have been greened today by two other pastors and at least one other who I know to be a church elder. So?

A home such as HH operates in a little community about 30 minutes from where I live called Victorious Valley Girls and Boys Homes and is a ministry of Victorious Valley Baptist Church in Sunset, SC. I have never heard of any abuse allegations made against the staff or anyone associated with the home. However, the pastor (a man named Johnny McGill) recently left his wife and family to be with one of the staff members at the home. We informed our people with the admonition to pray for all involved.

BTW I'm all for the sin of child abuse being exposed irregardless of who it is doing the exposing.
Pretty sure I know the situation. The staff member was a former student at the home. She was very young. As the green I sent you stated... I have met the couple that runs the home and I have no doubt the kids staying there are in good hands... and that couple truly loves those kids.

This was my point...I think he was being misleading in his "facts".

Yes Johnny's mistress is a former student and in her early to mid twenties. She had stayed on to help staff the home, and to my knowledge she was of legal age when the affair began.

I agree with you totally about the kids being loved and taken good care of, and think very highly of Susan McGill. However, we do not support the home, nor would I advocate a parent sending their child there (or any home) in most situations. I will say that a family member of mine who is a single mother sent her children there just before she was shipped off to prison for 3 years. Her family is poor and could not take on the extra mouths to feed, and the kids did benefit from their stay at the home.

Again, I am not bashing Victorious Valley nor am I saying they are in any way, shape, or form comparable to HH.

I think that's a bad idea. Do you really want Oprah to show the world how bad conservative Christianity is? The world doesn't know or care about the difference between the denominations, they are all the same to them. It judges Christianity by its people more than its doctrines. When Oprah's non-Christian audience sees how bad even a small group of Christians is and how they treat their own they will only brag in their own minds that they are not as bad those extremists. The only way you can have something like this shut down is to write to every one who supports their ministry and tell them what's really going on. Please think this through.

Not me, but at your request I will.

JJ is correct (as usual). This thread, again, makes the two ways of looking at the horrific abuse and coverup and adultery and . . .

IFBx'ers = Sweep it under the rug OR turn blame to the messenger (basso)

Citizens of the Kingdom = SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS

I'll take the latter group, Alex.

This is definitely last resort. They have contacted police, done all they could, staged protests, and as sad as it is, this is all that's left, aside from raiding the place. Williams is going to have his supporters, too, and it could very well be said the case against him isn't strong enough.

I doubt RW would show up on TV, but he needs to speak his piece about it all and get this all over and done with.

If there is abuse, ongoing, it needs to be stopped.
