    Default Bible Memory Association

Did anybody on here ever particpate in the BMA bible memorization program as a kid? They seem to have dropped off the planet and I'm wondering what happened.

we did. when we were members of a GARB church in Florida. My entire family was involved. Best thing about it was, the folks in charge of it were all seniors- retired missionaries who lived their own little community nearby. They were so kind and were a real blessing to me and my brothers and sisters. oh, plus they expected accuracy, which was lacking in the southern AWANA programs. so, even tho AWANA had games, we preferred BMA.

I have not participated but I have looked around at this site in the past...

Scripture Memory Fellowship is the successor to Bible Memory Association (BMA). Led by Dr. N.A. Woychuk since its founding over 60 years ago, Scripture Memory Fellowship International (SMF) exists to help believers memorize God's Word. In addition to the 51 books of choice Bible verses and notes arranged under instructive subject headings, SMF also publishes a variety of resources for the edification and encouragement of believers worldwide. Thanks for the link. This successor organizaton seems like really small potatoes compared to the old BMA. That had some really great camps. I also found a site saying their main campground in Louisiana was given to a Baptist group in St. Louis back in '93. Very strange.

I did back in 1976 in a GARBC church in Massachusetts. I won a Bible.
Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color. Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense, and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

Wow! Now that is really HARD CORE. They were really great bible camps. That's where I really would get dosed with fatalistic Hyper Calvinist teaching every year. By the time went home each year, I would end every sentence with "Inshallah." They were a blast.
