Fox news is getting so desperate to get a rebublican in office that they're going as low as pure trickery and lying.

They have had multiple guests on lately bashing Obama and claiming the price of gas has almost trippled under his watch

As if having random guests say this wasnt enough, now they're having their news anchors try to brainwash you too.

The keep saying "blah blah in 2008 when Obama took office the national average per gallon was $1.86"

Now, use some common sense. We all remember Katrina right, and how some stores didnt even have gas and people were lining up at gas stations waiting hours to fill up, right?

Remember how bad Katrina was and how paying over $4 a gallon at the time was all because of damage caused by Katrina but had nothing to do with Bush ?? You didnt forget that did you? $4+ a gallon and gas stations running out of gas...all while GWB was running the place.

Now Fox and republicans are claiming the national average was $1.86 when Obama took office, but he has ran this place so bad that now it is close to $4!!

Google is great...Crude oil costs increased by more than 76.5 cents per gallon from December 2003 to May 2007. Prices reached an all-time high on July 31, 2007 - all while bush was in office.

In May 2007, a gallon of gas cost an average of $3.46 - who was in office then? Whats the average now? Its about the same isnt it....?

So, what was the average gas price when President Obama swore in? Oh, yeah, $1.86. Today, it is $3.57/gallon per this site: Daily Fuel Gauge Report--national, state and local average prices for gasoline, diesel and E-85.

You freely site that under Bush and after hurricane Katrina hit that gas prices rose to $4.00/gallon. Guess what, once oil started pumping back into Louisiana and Texas those prices dropped, all the way down to $1.86. Herein is the problem with your logic. Under Bush, there was a clear reason, a shortage of oil coming into the country and its temporary effect on the economy. Under Obama, there is no excuse other than Obama has rejected oil production into this country falsely forcing prices worldwide to increase, hurting everyone in the world, except a few middle eastern nations. Obama has denied this country the opportunity to produce all of its own energy (oil, gas, and nuclear) to prove that he is a ignorant about wind and solar, which are still failing. In so doing, he creates a false pressure on all others as Americans need energy, again, which Obama denies us the opportunity to produce, so Americans drive up the price. His friends in the middle east limit production to keep prices falsely high. All other nations are injured by his ignorance. Or it could be that he has a closer friendship with the middle east than his predecessors, but then that would mean that CNN and the liberal left media were liars all along...similar to a certain hypocrite on this forum (maddog) that refuses to give everything he has away for the sale of the poor while demanding everyone do so.

There really is no shortage of energy in the U.S. we can even reduce the use of fossil fuels, but Obama refuses to take real action to curtail fossil fuel usage. If he does, he loses a political stick with which to beat political opponents. Washington does not seek solutions, they seek power - which applies to both parties in general.

I find it interested that the employment rate is down but more people are out of work...sounds like Obama math to me...

Lets tax the rich...wait a minute if we take 100% of everyone income that makes $500,000 or more it would not even cover the debt...

Greece gets bailed out because of 168 billion in debt...We had that much debt to our national debt every 45 days or so...

Worse yet...the number one debt holder of US debt is not China...it is the government...the government loans the government money...more lunancy...

Finally Social security...we cut the payroll tax which is SUPPOSED to go to Social security and then we whine that SS will run out of money...What a big scheme...We should apologize to Bernie Madoff and let him go...better yet, just pay back all the money he owed to his inverstor....HE was just following the governments SS model.

So MAddog, Under Obama, we have added more debt that in three years than in 200+ years of existence. Thank you Mr. President. Change arrived at the White House three years ago and now thats all I have left in my pocket.
