Do you know this song? We only remember this one verse and the chorus is the same. It is very Hebrew-ish!

"May I dwell- in your house,O Lord
May I flourish- like the trees of Lebanon!
Planted firmly in your word, O Lord
    May you live forever more!

    chorus: (same tune)
Lai lai lai- lai lai lai lai-lai
Lai lai lai lai- Lai lai lai lai lai lai-lai
Lai lai lai lai lai lai lai lai lai
Lai lai lai lai lai lai lai!"

Not sure I ever heard it. It does look somewhat similar to the following scripture song though!

    Jeremiah 31:13

Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together:

Lai lai lai lai- Lai lai lai lai lai lai-lai
Lai lai lai lai lai lai lai lai lai

for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them,

and make them rejoi-oi-oi-oi-oi-oi-oi-oi-oi-oi-oice, rejoice from their sorrow.

I learned this one at a Charismatic Church in Guam when I was stationed there. It starts slow and speeds up gradually each time you repeat the verse. The congregation was doing this sort of "Kick-Dancing" to the song. I have used it in Children's Church settings but I have always been afraid of trying to get Baptists to "Dance!"

we do the hora sometimes...it's really cool....
James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does the LORD require of you, but to act justly, To love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

Even though you may be paranoid, people still may be out to get you.

I have been called "the renegade Baptist" bcz we dance with our kids.
I think it all started with Fiddler on the Roof. I learned the Russian dance, then taught it to my kids. Then they wanted to try balancing a wine bottle on their head while doing it slow...But, we don't have any.
Then they started playing fiddles, and the Scottish music had everyone dancing. And the Q kept coming up, "Why do Baptists think dancing is bad when it's in the Bible?" And I explained to them that the "bad" dancing referred to in pulpits, is what I call the "ritual heathen mating dance", which is NOT what we do. Ours is the joyful dance described in the Bible.
Babies LOVE to dance. Our house is filled with joy, babies, music, singing and dancing.
