Very true. There is a lot of "evangelism" that is out when true conversion isn't taking place. You usually see this around people who make large claims on conversions. They get a person to say some quick prayer and that's it. Nowhere in Scripture is a verse that says to pray a prayer to be save. It says to believe. Anybody can repeat some words out.
Thanks for your response. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees that. It's a very tragic thing. What are we going to say when we meet God?

I posted an article on my blog about a week ago, and I want some feedback. Do you think that it's Scriptural, and if not why? I'm looking for debate in search of the truth.

Thank you for that link. I've already read through it twice. I am very disturbed by what's going on with our evangelism. I hope that the truth gets out before much more damage is done. What's the point of turning an unbeliever into an unbeliever with assurance of salvation that they do not have. Your article gives me hope that this tragedy is being addressed.

I'm very thankful for how the Lord does seem to have used that little booklet, online and in hard copy, to help people, including one preacher who was saved on an early Sunday morning because of it. Before that, he prayed "the sinner's prayer" right before each time he preached, in order to get enough assurance to make it through the message.
I'm talking with a handful of men who believe right on this to participate in a preachers' meeting I plan to hold next year. I don't know if we will convince anyone, but we will try. I'm going to get each man to take a particular aspect of the subject and bring a message on it.

That's awesome. Thank you for sharing that with me. I'll be praying for that meeting.

The devils believe, and tremble. Is believing the only requirement?
