I've read the BJU version of the events of the 1950's, Dan Turners, "Standing Without Apology." I've read Ted Mercers version in the form of three manuscripts. I've read Dalhouses version of the events of the 1950's in "Island in the Lake of Fire" (written with free access to BJU documentation). I look at it as Left, Right and Center....
I've also experienced BJU. I've also seen what BJU did to a family member. I currently have family members working for BJU. I met my wife at BJU. I use BJU materials for homeschooling. My five neices and nephews were born on the BJU campus.
All that being said, I believe Ted Mercers view of the situation, that being that the campus is manipulated by the Joneses and only the Joneses, not the board of trustees, etc. Nothing in the Mercer account seems inconsistent with what I have seen with my own eyes.
You can view the Mercer documents if you do a google search using "Ted Mercer BJU" just scroll down, all three of his essays are printed. They might just rattle your cage a little......
Any chance you still have access to the copy of the letter mailed by Mercer to the students? I would love to read it.
