View Full Version : Do they allow PCs in this school? water5 05-31-2006, 12:27 AM Internet in the dorm room? PC lab? Internet connected? Can people have computer notebooks? Martin Luther Hyles 06-07-2006, 05:41 PM I have no idea, but I sincerely doubt that at a place where no radio or television is allowed, that they would allow access to the internet. Email is more than likely allowed by writing a note and then turning it in to the college office to have it typed out and sent for you by staff. I would guess that's how they do email if they even allow that. It is a very restrictive place. I'm still in therapy because of it. rEALITY CHECK The Grand Wizard. water5 06-07-2006, 08:18 PM What, did the U2 and Queen restriction put you in withdrawl? just teasing. Kevin Keever 06-08-2006, 07:51 PM I was a dorm student and I had a pc. I had one friend who also had a pc and one who first showed us all the Jack Hyles website in about 1996 or so. Can't really remember. I also had a radio on my alarm clock. No one ever told me I had to get an alarm clock without a radio. :-) Once in a while, we'd listen to Echoes with John DeLaBurto to put us to sleep. :-) Those were the days. :-) Purhaps they no longer allow the internet, but I bet they do. I have no idea now, but all they'd have to do is use some sort of filtering or guardian software to keep students off sites they shouldn't be on. When I worked at OnStar, they had many safeguards in place to be sure web use was at least somewhat business related. :-) Kevin water5 06-08-2006, 11:16 PM I was a dorm student and I had a pc.
