This annual Christmas party has always been a pet peeve of mine, even when I attended LBT.
This "Party" consists of adults and children being bused in, marched into the auditorium, sing a few Christmas carols, give the plan of salvation, everyone who wants to get saved pray, baptize those who come forward, draw names for free groceries, run the kids through the line to choose a toy from the 3 for $1 store.
Up are the numbers for the year, many adults come and pray the prayer just to get the groceries. In fact people who come in for assistance from the church are given the plan of salvation, which is a good thing, but I wonder how many people have prayed the prayer thinking that if they didn't they would be denied assistance.
These are some things that have bothered me for years. I'm into soulwinning and everything, certainly not opposed to it, but is this really the correct and honorable way to go about it?
Your opinions are welcome!

I work in retail management. There's nothing wrong with year end closeouts in business!

This annual Christmas party has always been a pet peeve of mine... Mine too. I just wish that the company would fork out cash instead of going through the hassle and expense of having a Christmas party.

I would much rather be at home snuggled up with my woman and watching, "It's a Wonderful Life" than discussing the banalities of "Global Warming" with Bob's wife while we eat chicken breast and green beans at the company Christmas party.

Have you ever noticed how the red and white wine gives people the foulest smelling breath, but they are uterly unaware of it??? I hate company Christmas parties.

drink some and you won't notice.

Other churches and organizations do "Christmas Parties" for kids and make sure that the kids can get decent toys. LBT is sorry.

Sadly, this Christmas party at LBT is not for employees, but for kids. The toys are truly cheap. Most of the time, half of them would break before they got back on the bus.

However, the staff party is one of the few times that they do right by their staff. They will go out to dinner somewhere, (dutch treat, of course) and Dr. Gray will pass out Christmas Cards. Inside is their Christmas bonus. The amount ranges from 100.00 to 500.00 depending on how long you have been on staff. Since LBT pays their staff a poverty level wage, it is the only way that their families can afford Christmas. I remember one time at LCA finding out that the spring carnival funded the teacher's Christmas bonus. I was a little "miffed" that that money wasn't going to the school, until as an adult, I found out how little the teachers are paid. They could work at McDonalds and make a better living.
