You are right, but I would also have to agree with servinghim. On top of conservative, traditional and sacred, it is....... ?formal? (for lack of a better word.) I find ABC music to be a refreshing change on occasion. It has more heart, feeling to it, and leans more toward the old hymns and favorites.
Of late BJ music has concerned me. They are taking songs out of the CCM and "dumbing them down" to make them "acceptable." I personally do not care for some of the songs on the last few CDs. It has been the topic of discussion around our Sunday meal several times of late. (I'm sure that you, G&J, will remember what those conversations can be like

) My sister who is a GA said that they had a faculty/staff meeting recently in which they were assured that BJ has not changed and does not intend to change their position on contemporary music. Interesting, as since they felt the need to address it, they must have been recieving complaints.
That being said, with the incredible privilege that I have to be around first quality musicians, with excellent formal training, a steady diet of ABC music gets old as well. I believe that the key is balance. I love the CD by Alton & Dwight- Reflections of Revival.
You are right, contemporary music will NEVER happen at ABC as long as Doc Scovill is there. I can't see Dwight or Alton allowing it either.
