"Tarheel" = the mascot of the University of North Carolina, of which I am a BIG FAN!

As far as whether or not it's necessary, I can't really say. I am of the personal opinion that it should be, since I am very much a "local church" person.

You are not alone in that opinion, especially among IFB - that a college should be a part or a ministry of a local church. I must ask, on what Scriptural or other grounds do you base that opinion?

A Tarheel is a ram, not a goat.

The term "Tar Heel" has it's roots in an old Civil War story. I don't remember it completely, so I'll have to look it up.

I am in the process of putting together some basis for my opinion. Will post here when I am finished.

I was too wondering on this issue of "local church only", what are the scriptural defenses of it?

    (3) And he hath put a new song in my mouth,
even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

    Tarheel another thing

As a genuine Tarheel myself (having been raised 45 minutes from Chapel Hill) and the proud father of a Tarheel to be please look up and know what a Tarheel is. I am not upset at you but I would like every one to know what they claim to be. That's another thing about fundamentalist - they claim to be something but often cannot back up what they believe.

Again - I am not saying that is what or who you are, but it would help to know who you are and why you are.

Now out of curiosity - where are you from in the great state of North Carolina???

    God bless

    minister
