Football - Division III NCAA (no scholarship; real "student atheletes) and getting clobbered the last couple years. My son was a four-year starter DT and Little All-American 3rd team. Got a chance to be seen by NFL scouts, etc.
MBBC is a Bible College which requires a core of 30+ hours of Bible and Baptist courses, plus 54-hour core of academic. Then major and minor - son was a Business Management major. Good training for life.
He LOVED Coach Price and the football experience (they won games in those years!!) The school added to the gymnasium a complext for training, weights, etc.
Wrestling has also seen ups and downs. They've had an Olympic Medalist as coach! New coasch Andy Peterson's dad, Ben Peterson, served as the head wrestling coach at Maranatha for 27 years. Coach Peterson has worked as a clinician and coordinator with Camp of Champs, a summer wrestling camp run by his father and John Peterson, his uncle. Both Ben and John Peterson were Olympic gold and silver medalists in the 1970s.
Andy is an MBBC grad + masters in sports training/med from Western Michigan. The "next generation" wrestling coach and should improved the school's 40 year old program.
Hope that helps.
BTW, they have "camps" (week in summer) for wrestlers and many young men attend year after year to gain techniques in training and moves for use in schools.
